A Track Record of Distribution Success

Giant Screen Films actively distributes large-format films on behalf of independent third party producers. GSF takes special pride in the fact that it distributes its clients' films as aggressively as it does its own, a fact that is exhibited by the success of these respective films in the marketplace.

There are a number of different ways in which GSF acquires film distribution rights:

Development Phase Acquisitions
Our preference is to assume distribution responsibilities at an early phase in the development of a large-format film project. This enables us to play an active role in the creative development of the film, from conception through to release. By getting involved from the outset, GSF is able to not only lend its own business and creative instincts to the film, but also to actively solicit feedback from key theater clients at a number of stages during the development and production process. These industry professionals bring a wealth of industry experience to the table. They possess solid business instincts as it relates to maximizing a film's distribution prospect, and strong creative instincts as it relates to the film's creative development.

Pre-Release Acquisitions
GSF also acquires films in “mid-stream,” whether it be after principal photography, during post-production but prior to release, or just prior to launch. An example of this is the documentary Mystic India, which GSF became involved after principal photography was completed but prior to final picture lock.

Post-Release Acquisitions
Finally, GSF acquires films that have already been released to the large-format marketplace. There are a variety of reasons why a producer client might opt to go with GSF in this type of instance. Whatever that reason may be, GSF believes that it has much to bring to the table for those films that it takes under its wing. Examples of this include EXTREME, Olympic Glory, Majestic White Horses and the Academy Award winning The Old Man and the Sea.
